The Voice of the Children

Why ?

Whether a journal/newspaper is printed or presented online, its creation constitutes a project that motivates volunteers and tightens the bonds within the association as to strongly implicate/ involve young reporters in the creation of the journal and give them real responsibilities.

RedChild intends not only to be an association that acts to help disadvantaged children but also to raise awareness.

For Who ?

Our Team :

The team is composed of a publishing director, an editor-in-chief, editors, proof readers, layout artist…

Key functions of a newspaper/ journal :

The Publishing director is responsible for the journal in relation to legal aspects.

The editor in chief’s role is that of an orchestra conductor or a boat captain: His work consists of creating harmony and maintaining the course. He is the manager of the editorial line and oversees a proper functioning of the journal, suggests topics, assigns stories, ensures deadlines, controls the articles and issues; he is also responsible for distributing the work among the journalists, and keeping track of the layout, corrections and production.

The features editor manages thematic sections of the journal/newspaper

The journalists/reporters and editors provide the content of the journal through their articles.

The layout artist creates the graphic composition of the journal from the model (fixed model) so that the content is assembled in a harmonious and balanced manner.

The proof readers correct the articles. (Grammar and spelling)

It is not uncommon to have two hats, that is to say, to combine two functions! The allocation of roles is not necessarily final in order to avoid jealousies and weariness. By operating a rotation system for preparing publications, volunteers can experience different forms of responsibilities – not only those, which they have abilities in.
